According to zdnet.com, since the launch of Pinterest in March, the site has acquired a large amount of traffic, collecting, “nearly 11 million total visits during the week ending December 1 — almost 40 times the number of total visits versus just six months ago.”

Though you must be invited to use Pinterest by another user, as soon as you are able to gain access, you’re are automatically asked about your interests to give the website a few ideas of the kind of boards you should follow. Then, it’s time to create your own board!

Pinterest will give you options including: “My Stuff,” “Products I Love” and “Books Worth Reading.” You also have the option of creating your own Pinboard. For instance, if none of the options fit the topic of your Pinboard, you can click “Add.” If you find a category you like, select it and click “Create.”

2. To Add the “Pin It” Firefox Extension or Not: It is entirely up to you. If you choose to add the “Pin It” Firefox Extension, a video on the website gives you step-by-step options. After it’s been added, if you choose to do so, click “Start Pinning.”

3. Start Pinning: You will be taken to your wall, where you can start adding your own pins or creating your own board. Click the + button and select “Add a Pin,” “Upload a Pin” or “Create a Board.”
