Instagram can welcome another user to its roster of photo-sharers. Tuesay, during the Iowa caucus, President Obama became one of the newest members of the popular application under username: @barackobama.
According to HuffingtonPost.com, the Obama Staff has already posted two pictures to the account.
Instagram took to their blog to announce the new arrival, saying, “We’re excited to welcome President Barack Obama to Instagram! We look forward to seeing how President Obama uses Instagram to give folks a visual sense of what happens in the everyday life of the President of the United States.”
Instagram went on to say that the Obama staff is asking Instagram users to share photos from the 2012 election using the hashtag #obama2012.
According to CBSNews.com, President Obama has gained more than 18,000 followers since last night.
As of now, Instagram is only available for the iPhone, but PCMag.com reported that there is an Android version in the works.
