Vimeo is teaming up with the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation — run by the people who host the Emmy awards every year — and MTVu to help with the Foundation’s annual College Television Awards. College students who aspire for a career in television and have some great example work to show should highly consider entering this contest.
College and graduate students can enter and upload their school-related television and film work made in 2012 through Vimeo until January 29 and will receive a free Vimeo Plus trial upon submission. Though the first entry is free, all subsequent entries will cost $25.
After that, their work will be judged in 14 different categories ranging from newscasts to comedy, and the Foundation will announce the winners in April in Los Angeles. Other entries in the “College Emmys” are also eligible for other prizes, namely the Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship which recognizes students trying to bring innovation into children’s media.
