Video sharing site Blinkx has revamped its main website to include more strong recommendation and personalization search features, the company announced today.
Some of the new features that are part of the revamp include a customized constant flow of uploaded content called My Stream, and Pause and Pick-Up, a feature that lets you watch videos on one device and finish it later on another device.
Blinkx said that from its beta research over the past few months, users like the company’s focus on personalized content, which translates into more time spent on the site.
They also found out that four times as many viewers are connecting to Blinkx through mobile devices than on a web browser, which is presumably why they pushed a touch-optimized multi-platform interface for users viewing on mobile phones and tablets as a part of the revamp. With the addition of Dailymotion as a partner this week, Blinkx will provide more than 35 million hours of content from more than 800 content partners.
Besides touting its latest revamp, Blinkx released an infographic that highlights how online video viewing will mostly shift to mobile by 2016.
