Company CEO and founder George Strompolos said that he was “thrilled” about Danko’s hiring and added in a statement: “He is tremendously talented and passionate about innovating brand solutions for the future of video. We look forward to taking Fullscreen’s overall brand strategy to the next level by leveraging Justin’s deep experience in branded entertainment.”
Danko, who was previously Vice President of Branded Entertainment for MTV at Viacom Networks, will oversee channel management and optimization for brands trying to succeed on YouTube from Fullscreen’s New York office.
Fullscreen, which celebrated its second anniversary as a company this month, overtook Maker Studios as the number one independent YouTube network in December 2012, according to comScore Video Metrix data.
