Two YouTube stars, Joey Graceffa and Meghan Camarena (Strawburry17), are competing as #TeamYouTube in the 22nd season of CBS’s “The Amazing Race.”
You can watch the popular vloggers duke it out against competitors like a former NHL player and the granddaughter of legendary actor John Wayne as their teams trek over 30,000 miles and five continents. The season premieres on February 17.
The duo both made videos announcing their participation in the “Amazing Race” on their respective channels yesterday.
Graceffa and Camarena, who both make comedy vlogs and parody videos on YouTube, have a combined subscriber base of around 587,000.
However, they aren’t the only YouTubers to have competed on the long-running adventure reality series. In 2010, YouTube superstar KevJumba and his father participated in the 17th season of “The Amazing Race,” but finished in 7th place.
This isn’t the first time YouTubers are being seen on a mainstream format. Already, several popular entertainers who got their start on YouTube have been featured in a number of commercials, shows, and in some cases films.
