I’m not one to stand in the way of stupid people getting their just desserts.

Hanna Fylling Ellingseter, whose name is quickly becoming commonplace on the internet, has uploaded a video to YouTube of herself singing and stabbing a knife between her outstretched fingers. It has quickly become today’s standard for “I hope this doesn’t become a meme.”

The Norwegian 16-year-old is apparently copying a video posted by YouTuber “RustyCageMusic” back in 2011, a young man who not only does the knife game faster, but also has an extra verse and states that he is the originator of the song.

Considering nobody raised a fuss about Rusty Cage back in 2011, we have to wonder: is it because Hanna is a girl? Is it because she looks so young? Is it because she is a copycat and, therefore, might encourage other copycats?

I have to say I am a fan of this game. I used to do it as a child when my parents weren’t home (I didn’t have the catchy song though), and it is good to see that stupidity hasn’t fallen out of favor. If this thing does catch on, NMR should have some truly brutal videos to report on for the next couple months.
