UK-based cable channel Film4 is teaming up with Vimeo to release two short films on the video-streaming site as part of their Film 4.0 project, ScreenDaily.com reported.
The two films screening on Vimeo are “Jonah,” a film featured at this year’s Sundance Film Festival which tells a story about two friends who dream big after capturing a gigantic fish on camera, and “Dr. Easy,” based on the Matthew De Abaitua dystopian novel “The Red Men.” “Jonah” is currently available on Vimeo and Film4.com and “Dr. Easy” will go live June 21.
Film 4.0 head Anna Higgs told ScreenDaily.com: “We’re constantly looking for new ways to reach audiences, so it makes total sense to partner with Vimeo to bring these films to as many people as possible online.”
The Film4-Vimeo partnership is one of many projects that Vimeo has undertook this year. In March, Vimeo introduced “Vimeo on Demand,” which lets content creators monetize their content by charging for their videos. The following month, the video-streaming platform introduced the “Brand Creator Fund,” which teams up Vimeo content creators and advertisers to work on sponsored projects.
