The Young Turks Network announced that it has partnered with digital video technology company OneScreen to launch its channel on the Roku streaming device today.
The TYT Network channel features clips and full episodes from its flagship series “The Young Turks” as well as programs from its other channels like TYT Sports, TYT University and Town Square.
Speaking to NMR, COO Steven Oh explained about TYT’s plans to bring their content outside of YouTube and to multiple devices:
“TYT’s strategy is to be on every screen everywhere: from mobile phones on subways, to tablets while on vacation, to huge flatscreen TVs in the living room. With the Roku app, we hope to accomplish two things: Reach a new audience native to the Roku ecosystem and enable our existing audience to watch our programs from the comfort of their living room.”
Roku users can watch TYT Network programs by going to the Channel Store, selecting TYT Network from the list and then selecting “Add Channel.” Once the channel is added to the lineup, Roku users can select “go the channel” once it’s finished.
Besides launching a Roku channel, the TYT Network and OneScreen will launch an app for Apple and Android devices next month that would let “The Young Turks” viewers watch episodes and clips from the news series on their mobile devices.
