NewMediaRockstars is currently looking for new people to join, and grow with, our team. You must be a rockstar and an active user on major social media platforms — Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, ect. The following positions are currently available:
Writers
- Passion for writing/journalism
- Strong knowledge of new media/entertainment, technology and world news
- Interest in covering the YouTube community, new media personalities and celebrities active in social media
- Must be able to pitch story ideas related to the topics listed above
- Impeccable grammar and strong writing skills
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Knowledge of AP Style
- Must have at least THREE PUBLISHED writing samples (Not just in a blog)
- Must be able to produce solid content FAST
- Must understand how to properly cite sources according to basic rules in journalism
- Must be a self-starter, willing to learn and grow with a startup company
- Degree in journalism preferred
- Must provide links to writing samples or send in an attachment
Graphic Designers
- Must be passionate about the arts, design and typography.
- Experience in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Flash and InDesign.
- Create artwork for blog posts, web features, custom web and print projects.
- Manage upload and publication of art and content to CMS.
- Prepare artwork & images to optimize for the web.
- Work with NewMediaRockstars’ creative director to produce look & feel of published content.
- Interest/familiar with new media creative communities such as Behance, Design You Trust, Smashing Magazine, etc.
- Be familiar with web licensing and image-use conventions.
- Comfortable with both HTML & CSS.
Videographers
- Must love cinematography, movies and old school films.
- Must have experience editing with Final Cut Pro and After Effects.
- Must know how to run with a camera without a steady-cam.
- Prepare and optimize for the web and other media.
- Work with NewMediaRockstars’ creative director to produce look & feel of published content.
- Must be familiar with online publishing software, analytics and traffic-monitoring tools, RSS readers and basic HTML
In-House Webmaster
- Exceptional skills in WordPress, HTML, Javascript, and CSS
- Must LOVE being on the Internet.
- Familiar with online communities such as Mashable, Gizmodo, engadget, etc.
- Knowledge of online publishing software, analytics and traffic-monitoring tools, RSS readers and basic HTML
