My name is Jason and I’m a co-founder of The Jubilee Project. We make videos for a good cause to empower, enable, and inspire others to do good as well. On the side, I’m also a management consultant.
Where are you from?
I’m a proud Kansan living in The Big Apple. But I was born in Seattle and raised all around the US (New Jersey, Michigan, Texas and Kansas).
I love the fact that it connects people around the world and provides each individual with a voice, everyone from the aspiring Asian-American artist to the oppressed Egyptian revolutionary. There’s a powerful movement taking place and social media is empowering those who are often overlooked and marginalized.
Never underestimate the potential of new media to inspire people. One tweet, post, or video can change someone’s life. We’ve received some incredible emails and messages from people around the world who were touched by a simple video.
Figure out what you’re truly passionate about and use social media as a tool to pursue that. It’s important to determine your purpose and goals early on, otherwise it’s easy to become caught up in the numbers. Ultimately, remain true to yourself and remember why it is that you do what you do.
