Fans of the YouTube hit “Annoying Orange” will be delighted to know that the Internet series will be moving from YouTube to Cartoon Network in 2012.
For those of you who don’t know, “Annoying Orange” is a Web-based series in which an orange annoys other fruits, vegetables and objects with his puns and bad jokes. It was created by Dane Boedigheimer and released in 2009.
According to USAToday.com, Cartoon Network hopes to air the show this summer.
In a recent Vlog, Boedigheimer announced that the “Annoying Orange” TV series will not be made into a cartoon, and is set to be shot in the same way as the YouTube videos.
According to suntimes.com, the YouTube show, which usually runs for 3 minutes, will be expanded to 11 minutes per episode.
Suntimes.com also reported that “Annoying Orange” toys are in the works. Expect to see “Annoying Orange” plush dolls at Toys R Us and “Annoying Orange” Halloween costumes at Rubies.com.
