According to their YouTube Channel ,”Your Film Festival” is giving storytellers 15 minutes to present their vision in the form of a short film. Creators’ visions can be submitted in any format, from TV pilots to trailers; the story is what counts.
Audiences, globally, will be able to vote on the shorts starting June 1. The 10 winning entries will get the opportunity to open the “Venice Film Festival” in hopes of winning a grand prize grant of $500,000 to finance new projects.
Ridley and Tony Scott’s production company Scott Free will also be contributing to the “Your Film Festival.” The lucky grand prize winner will have the help of Ridley Scott and Scott Free in producing their new work.
“Your Film Festival” represents the level of artistic freedom that sites like YouTube offer storytellers. There is no entry fee for the festival so anyone can submit and display their talent without financial or marketing constraints.
Submissions open February 2 and close March 31, with final votes being cast by July 13.
