There are a ton of things Facebook is good for. Here, let me give you a few examples: posting pictures of the food you are eating, telling people you are somewhere they are not (i.e. a restaurant where you can post pictures of food you are eating), stalk people, reconnect with friends from high school who you hated, something called Zynga, live vicariously through strangers, and so on.
Now, as tantalizing as all those incredible perks of Facebook are, nothing is better than the unique brand of street justice the social media site has been known to dish out. All teenagers using Facebook are the worst, and today’s news item only solidifies that very broad blanket statement.
18-year-old Paula Asher, in a truly historic act of bat-shit insanity posted on Facebook that “My dumbass got a DUI and hit a car LOL.” Apparently, the young savant wished to impress her most likely reputable group of friends with the status update. Unfortunately, the parents of the teen who Asher hit were so enraged by the update that they had a judge order the mini-wino to take down her post and entire Facebook page.
Of course, as rebellious teenagers are known to do, Asher refused to comply with the judge’s orders and ended up spending two days in the slammer because of it. Asher is currently set to appear in court on September 27th for DUI and leaving the scene of an accident charges.
All was not lost though; Asher saw the error of her ways and issued a statement saying, “I didn’t mean to hurt anybody. I didn’t think ‘lol’ would put me in jail.” Somewhere, Ted Kaczynski is pulling out what’s left of his thick mountain man hair.
