In preparation for Steven Spielberg’s release of his latest film “Lincoln,” the director and actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt are participating in a Google+ hangout today starting at 7 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific.

The film focuses on the last few months of Lincoln’s life as he grapples with the culmination of the Civil War and unification of the country. A 44-second teaser promoting the movie and hangout has already been released featuring a quote by Lincoln (portrayed by Daniel Day-Lewis) from the closing of his famous “Gettysburg Address”: “That we here highly resolve that these dead shall not have died in vain — that this nation, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom — and that government of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the earth.”
You don’t see much of Day-Lewis’ Lincoln character in the teaser apart from him observing an army camp at night. The trailer, which will also be released today, will help add more light to the film.
