Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has been stepping up his YouTube game lately, and by “stepping up his YouTube game,” I of course mean ruining people’s lives. If you weren’t already familiar with Kimmel’s particular brand of cruelty, essentially, the talk show host asks participants to send in YouTube video pranks inspired by scenes from the seventh circle of hell. Try this hysterical prank on for size:
While watching the Super Bowl, unplug the television during a pivotal moment in the game, and then sit back and watch your friends marvel at your mastery of comedic timing.
In his latest crowd-sourced prank, Kimmel asked viewers to buy terrible back to school clothes for their kids and film the whole thing. The result is a mixture of equal parts sadness, gender identity confusion, sadness again, followed by some pretty great reactions like the one I’ve taken the liberty of captioning below.
This isn’t the first time Kimmel’s weaved together nightmare scenarios that will surely scar these children for years to come. In fact, he has been doing this for years now, slowly sharpening his fangs while listening to an iPod filled exclusively with the sound of children wailing. But, I digress; below we’ve compiled some of the best YouTube-sourced pranks created by Kimmel and his staff of demon lords and women who live in houses made of candy.
