Mark your calendars for September 18, because The Killers are coming back with their fourth studio album “Battle Born,” featuring their lead single “Runaways,” which has so far logged more than 3 million views on YouTube.
You can watch the live stream through The Killers’ VEVO site on YouTube.
Herzog said in one of the trailers leading up to The Killers concert that he wants to make this “Unstaged” event “much more interactive.” To fulfill Herzog’s plans, the band wants to showcase your photos as they perform onstage. Simply snap a photo of yourself with a sign stating where you live, and add your Instagram and Facebook photos to the “Unstaged” Face to Face website.
So far, the American Express “Unstaged” concert on Vevo and YouTube has featured 11 musicians, including Jay-Z, Jack White and Usher performing tracks from their latest albums and using social media to interact with their audience away from the venue. These artists often collaborate with prominent directors for the broadcast; Jonathan Demme, Spike Lee and Gary Oldman have previously directed other “Unstaged” concerts.
The addition of The Killers to the “Unstaged” roster highlights the efforts by traditional music artists to bring live performances to a wider audience and finding ways of interacting with fans through inclusive on-stage elements.
