When a 6’7”, 314-pound man tells you he’s disgusted with you, you tend to take notice. If you were one of the fans at Arrowhead Stadium or watching at home, and you cheered when Matt Cassel, quarterback for the Kansas City Chiefs, went down injured, just know you are on Eric Winston’s shit list.
Winston, the right offensive tackle for the Chiefs, became a figurehead for compassion today when a video of him lambasting those fans who cheered, went viral. “But when you cheer, when you cheer somebody getting knocked out, I don’t care who it is, and it just so happened to be Matt Cassel — it’s sickening. It’s 100 percent sickening. I’ve been in some rough times on some rough teams, I’ve never been more embarrassed in my life to play football than in that moment right there,” said Winston in the video, which was taken in the locker room after the Chiefs’ loss.
The fans were apparently cheering because Cassel, their own team’s quarterback, has been playing lousy this year, and they were relieved that he would no longer be in the game.
As a fan of the Denver Broncos (the Chiefs’ division rivals), I can honestly and unbiasedly say that those motherless scumbag fans in Kansas City deserve a hearty helping of ass soup. And don’t worry, Eric Winston, the Broncos are going to give it to them … twice for good measure!
