And Romney does it again, and this time, with his handy dandy notebook.
With America only recently recovering from Romney’s Big Bird threats, last night’s debate did little to calm our nerves as we found out that if elected, Romney will be keeping “binders of women” around the White House. In response to an audience member’s question about pay equity for women, Romney reassured America that he was not only dedicated to finding the most qualified women to fill his cabinet positions but had collected binders of women to pore over.
“And I said, ‘Well, gosh, can’t we — can’t we find some — some women that are also qualified?” Romney stated. “I went to a number of women’s groups and said, ‘Can you help us find folks?’ and they brought us whole binders full of women.”
You can’t make up that kind of crazy.
Minutes later, the ‘Binders Full of Women’ craze exploded, inciting hundreds of tweets and Tumblr photos depicting women from Carly Rae Jepsen to Hilary Clinton being clipped into their office supplies. It seems that taking down a fictional PBS character is one thing, but threatening Planned Parenthood, who primarily aids victims of violence, has placed Romney on the front page of many women’s burn books.
While we can only wait and see what these candidates have in store from the next debate, I encourage you to share, tweet and enjoy the memes below. I promise they won’t disappoint.
