YouTube is making it easier for its Android mobile users to watch videos on their TVs thanks to an app update which pairs it up with a Google TV device.
In a post on their official blog, YouTube Product Manager Timbo Drayson said that the upgraded YouTube Android app works like a remote control — you can pick and choose which video you want and view it on the big screen. With the new app, you can pause, rewind, fast forward and stop your video.
He said: “Just find a video on your YouTube app for Android — like the latest video from GoPro or H+ The Digital Series — click the TV icon that appears, and the video will play instantly on your Google TV.”
Also, you can also create your own playlist with your friends by syncing other Android devices to the TV.
Drayson expects that such a pairing like the one for Android and Google TV would be rolled out on other devices in the future. If such a pairing is available for Apple devices, this would certainly make watching YouTube videos on TV more appealing.
