The folks at MDG Advertising created this visually impressive and easy-to-read infographic detailing social media’s influence on charitable giving this past year.
In the introduction to the infographic, they wrote: “Raising money for good causes has more than doubled in the last 5 years. With the ever-increasing usage of social media and the viral nature of online events, such as #GivingTuesday, social giving is becoming very popular and effective among nonprofits.”
Some of the more interesting tidbits from the infographic include the figure that average social media donation was up $4 from last year to $59 this year and that campaigning through Twitter generates a 10-fold amount of money.
