Livestream To Broadcast The Times Square New Year’s Eve Ball Drop

For the fourth year in a row, the Times Square Alliance and Livestream are teaming up to broadcast the New Year’s Eve celebrations in New York City as the world welcomes 2013.

The live stream will begin at 6 p.m. EST and will end 15 minutes after the world-famous crystal ball drops at midnight, signaling the beginning of the New Year. The event will feature live performances from YouTube sensations like PSY and Carly Rae Jepsen as well as the countdown that everyone’s been waiting for.

Besides broadcasting musical performances, the live stream will feature a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the Times Square New Year’s Eve celebrations. Viewers can interact on Facebook and Twitter throughout the live stream.

Also, the Times Square Alliance has an app for the event that is available for download on iTunes and Google Play. The app lets you watch the live stream, and you can submit and vote for New Year’s photos of your friends and family to possibly appear on the big screen below the New Year’s Ball.
