New Zealand’s SPCA Unveils World’s First Driving Dog in Viral YouTube Video

If you told Porter the dog the old maxim that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks, he’d probably bark at you or worse — pee on your rug.

That’s because he’s the world’s first dog to learn how to drive. In this viral YouTube clip straight out of New Zealand, one trainer got Porter into a Mini and gave him the chance to drive the entire length of a racetrack. Is there any other dog that can top that? Unless there are dogs that can actually talk, then I think not.

The video, however, does raise one serious point. Porter is one of thousands of dogs in New Zealand looking for a home, and the country’s Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals sponsored this video.

As smart a dog as Porter is, I think there should no problem finding him a home. Check out the video below:
