Watch This: Middle School Wrestler Loses to Rival with Cerebral Palsy

It’s not often you see one competitor letting another win for sportsmanship’s sake. When such a situation seems to have occurred, sports pundits are quick to jump in and condemn it as a disgrace to the respective sport.

But Justin Kievit, a middle school wrestler from Tennessee, didn’t think that deliberately losing to a rival with Cerebral palsy was a disgrace or a cop-out. For him, it was the right thing to do, and the video of the match went viral. More than 80,000 people on Facebook shared this moment of “true sportsmanship.”

Jared Stevens, the kid who won the match, told the local paper Franklin Home Page that people shouldn’t worry about him wrestling because of his condition.

He said: “I think a lot of people are scared to put kids like me on the mat, but they don’t need to be.”

Watch this viral clip below as Kievit gracefully gives the win to rival Stevens.
