When people think of charities and live streams, the first thing that probably comes to mind would be a benefit concert for a non-profit or cause. But watching a group of guys playing video games for hours to support the less fortunate this holiday season? Nah, not unless you’re part of the Yogscast army.
Simon, Lewis and the gang are at it again with their second Christmas charity appeal. This year, they’re trying to raise £60,000 ($96,224) for Oxfam’s project helping Ethiopian farmers build modern beekeeping equipment. The Yogscast army will promote their charity during their Christmas live streams throughout the holiday season every day at 10 a.m. PT/1 p.m. ET. Besides asking viewers to donate through JustGiving.com, all proceeds from their $4.99 TwitchTV subscriptions, channel merchandise and their Christmas song will go towards the Oxfam project.
The guys from Yogcast talk about their Christmas live streams and their efforts to help Ethiopian farmers in the YouTube clip below.
