YouTube has released an updated app for the iPhone 5 and the iPad today. This is the first time a version of YouTube’s app will support iPad functionality since it was pulled as one of Apple’s pre-loaded applications.
The app features AirPlay streaming, which allows users to wirelessly stream content from iOS devices to HDTVs via Apple TV. Clickable links in video descriptions also comes with the updated app, as well as the ability to add and remove videos from playlists.
YouTube mobile has become a massive portion of every creator’s experience as a partner. iPad specifically makes up a huge portion of YouTube’s mobile audience. By finally launching this iPad-friendly version, YouTube will generate more opportunities for creator’s videos to be consumed on the go.
