Netflix Unveils ‘Super HD’ Picture Quality and 3D Titles At CES

Netflix announced at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas this week that it is offering high-quality streaming titles under its new “Super HD” program which broadcasts movies and TV shows with 1080p full HD content.

The video-streaming site promises picture quality that’s “even better than HD” that you can watch on your computer as well as a compatible device like Roku or Apple TV. However, to enjoy Netflix’s full HD streaming content, you must be a subscriber to Google Fiber and Cablevision cable services. Otherwise, you may have to wait a while until your Internet Service Provider is part of Netflix’s Open Connect network.

For those with 3D televisions, Netflix will also offer a few of its titles in 3D very soon but only if you have “Super HD” technology. Some 3D titles currently offered by Netflix include the fantasy film “Immortals” and the snowboarding documentary “The Art of Flight.”
