YouTube Rapper Freddy E. Commits Suicide After Sending Chilling Twitter Messages

Seattle-based rapper and YouTube personality Freddy E. Buhl (Freddy E.) passed away last week from a self-inflicted gunshot wound. The family of Freddy E. issued a statement confirming the rapper’s death.

The statement posted on Facebook read: “Today, our son, Frederick Eugene Buhl (@freddy_E), age 22 years old, took his own life with a rifle shot to the head. Our family is saddened beyond words; our loss is great; this tragedy is enormous and unforeseen.”

Moments before he took his own life, Freddy E. sent out several tweets expressing the depths of his grief.

Freddy E’s YouTube channel JERKTV is a mix of comedy skits, spoken word uploads, and music videos. With over 7 million views and 72,884 subscribers, Freddy E was an influential member of YouTube’s rap and spoken word community.

Freddy E’s last upload was posted on January 4, a spoken word video titled “Ignorance.”

Early reports have speculated that Freddy E. took his life after splitting up with rapper Honey Cocaine, who is a member of rapper Tyga’s record label Last Kings. On Twitter, Honey Cocaine (Sochitla Sal) defended herself against the allegations, writing, “For people to attack me acting like I made him do it is a shame.”

Reports say that Sal will be doing a radio interview in Los Angeles today to address the rumors surrounding Freddy E’s suicide.
