[UPDATED] YouTube Terminates Angry Video Game Nerd’s Account

[UPDATE 01/08/2013 2:57 p.m. PT] The Angry Video Game Nerd account has been reinstated on YouTube.

It looks like it is game over on YouTube for Angry Video Game Nerd. The hugely popular video game reviewer got the boot from YouTube this week, with his landing page saying that his jamesnintendonerd account was “terminated due to repeated or severe violations of our Terms of Service.”

Posters on Neogaf and on the Angry Video Game Nerd’s Facebook page speculated that his removal may be tied to copyright complaints, though James Rolfe, the man behind the video game review channel, has yet to comment on his channel’s removal.

The Angry Video Game Nerd, portrayed by Rolfe, became famous by playing through old Nintendo games like “Castlevania” and “The Legend of Zelda” while going on epic tirades about their bizarre plot lines and seemingly awful game play. Over six years, Rolfe had amassed over 900 thousand subscribers and 400 million video views on YouTube, and Kotaku reported that Rolfe also had a movie in the works.

Despite having his YouTube channel terminated, you can still watch previous episodes of Angry Video Game Nerd on the Cinemassacre.com page.
