FishBowl Worldwide Media, the studio that owns the Petsami channel, partnered with Quinto’s Before The Door Pictures production in bringing this heartwarming rivalry of a man and a stranger obsessed with a dog at the local pound.
Quinto talked about the plot in a statement: “This story is very close to all of us, as we have all rescued or fostered dogs over the years. The story of the film is an exaggerated account of how I eventually found my rescue dog Noah, but it still reflects a bit of the reality I faced when I was looking to adopt a shelter dog.”
In addition to their deal with Quinto, Revision3 will also distribute and cross-promote the short film as well as other Petsami programs on their network.
David Beebe, senior vice president and General Manager of FishBowl’s Digital Studio, said that the “Dog Eat Dog” short film “reflects the original and inspirational programming that our audiences love.”
He adds in a statement: “Dog Eat Dog allows us to continue to provide great and relevant content for our audience, as well as more cross-promotion opportunities with Revision3. It also allows the film to reach new and engaging audiences and hopefully inspire others to adopt dogs that are looking for a loving and forever home.”
The “Dog Eat Dog” project has been nearly two years in the making. Quinto and director Sian Heder went on Kickstarter back in November 2011 to get viewers to fund the short film. They raised $30,204, more than four times their original goal of $7,500.
