Count on Air New Zealand to make the boring flight safety video into a viral piece of work. Their recent flight safety videos featuring the cast of “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey” and legendary fitness guru Richard Simmons have become sensations on YouTube, with their videos getting more than 10 million and 2 million views respectively.
Now the airline has recruited British bad-ass adventurer and “Man vs. Wild” host Bear Grylls to star in their latest flight safety video titled “The Bear Essentials of Safety.” Grylls gives his take on the traditional pre-flight safety routines, but instead of conducting it inside a mock airplane, Air New Zealand set their latest video out in the wild, more specifically New Zealand’s very picturesque Roteburn Track hiking trail on South Island.
The airline is promoting their viral Bear Grylls’ safety video in conjunction with a contest where viewers have a chance to win a trip for two to New Zealand. For more information, click here.
