It’s always great to hear about a talented YouTuber finally getting some mainstream love. Last Friday, much to the collective joy of the YouTube community, mtvU premiered the music video for DeStorm Power’s “King Kong.”
As it happens, according to an update from the rapper, due to the incredible outpouring of support on the mtvU site from DeStorm’s fans, “King Kong” will be on regular rotation on MTV2 and mtvU starting March 4, 2013.
DeStorm writes that the music video will air to “15,000,000 households/schools/establishments.” The YouTuber turned soon to be mainstream success added, “They were very impressed with the support. Y’all killed the site on premiere day.”
MTV has apparently also shown interest in premiering DeStorm’s music video for the track “Invincible,” which begins filming on March 6th.
DeStorm Power is one of the hardest working dudes on YouTube, and it’s really great to see him making big moves in mainstream music. To get caught up on all things DeStorm Power, check out our in-depth interview with the rapper here.
