Free samurai alert!
I’m a damn Akira Kurosawa nut and if you like films even a little bit, you should be too. He pretty much inspired every modern filmmaker working today. His seminal classics “Yojimbo,” “Seven Samurai” and “Rashomon” have been remade several times (into less quality movies, but still), and even his “lesser films,” are considered must-watch (including “The Hidden Fortress,” one of the films “Star Wars” was based on).
But don’t take my word for it — invest a little time in your culture this weekend by tuning into Hulu as they celebrate what would have been the director’s 103rd birthday. 24 films will be shown in all, including some of his extremely hard-to-find stuff. If you can stay awake for two days straight, you might just have yourself the most educational weekend of your life.
