Not only did they put out a release date of May 26th for the new season of “Arrested Development,” but they’re also releasing the whole friggin’ season at once! Potentially. Best. News. Ever!
I of course say “potentially,” because, let’s be honest, hopefully this season mirrors the brilliantly hilarious first two and not the god-awful third one. Charlize Theron’s character was not a secret agent but rather a “special needs” person? You’d have better luck defending the recent seasons of “The Simpsons” to me.
The entire canon of 15 episodes will be released at 12:01 a.m. PT on May 26th, and series creator Mitchell Hurwitz said in a statement to Vulture, “My simple wish for the show is coming true: that it be broadcast every second around the clock to every television, computer or mobile device in existence.”
Guest stars in the new season include Isla Fisher, Conan O’Brien, Kristin Wiig and Ben Stiller. Hurwitz has got the right cast, good guest stars and a forward-thinking network to release it all through, so hopefully, with the nice break, his show will return to its sweet, creamy glory.
