Cartoon Network Announces Second Season of ‘Annoying Orange’ Will Air May 16


Cartoon Network recently announced that the second season of the high energy, fruit-focused show “The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange” will be kicking off on May 16 at 7:30 p.m. ET. The YouTube web series created by Dane Boedigheimer follows the adventures of a talking orange named Orange as he annoys his fruit friends from their stand in Daneboes supermarket.

“The Annoying Orange” show, which began as a viral video that turned into a web series, has now become one of the most successful channels on YouTube with over 2.9 million subscribers. After four years on YouTube the show transitioned into a 30-minute television show on Cartoon Network in 2012. With an already strong social media fanbase, the primetime show has averaged 2 million viewers per television episode. “The Annoying Orange” is a pioneering program for being on both television and YouTube at the same time; the brand includes a regularly programmed TV show as well as consistent YouTube video uploads onto the the Annoying Orange channel.  The second season of “The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange” will feature the voices of guests that include Dave Grohl, Rainn Wilson, Al Yankovic, Kellan Lutz, Olivia Munn, Gilbert Gottfried, David Cross, Jack McBrayer, Carl Edwards, Maria Menounos and Kendall Jenner.
