Machinima Prime Debuts Its First-Ever Original Sci-Fi Drama ‘Omega’ [VIDEO]

Machinima Prime premiered its first-ever original sci-fi drama series “Omega” today, which focuses on a small group of military and civilian survivors live in a post-apocalyptic planet Earth.

The series, directed by Jared Pelletier, takes place somewhere in a battle-scarred countryside five years after humans had their first encounter with aliens.

The narrator says in the first episode: “When the motherships arrived, science fiction became a reality and thus became a cutthroat survival of the fittest. A billion people died the first year and when telecommunications broke down, it feels like we’ve been knocked back a century.”

After that first contact, Earth is in ruins and it’s up to the survivors to figure out what to do next and defend themselves from alien invaders.

Machinima teased “Omega” during February’s Streamy Awards. It has expanded its channel offerings lately, including last week’s debut of Kevin Pereira’s video game competition series “Player vs. Pain.”
