PledgeMusic and YouTube music multi-channel network Indmusic announced a strategic partnership where independent musicians on PledgeMusic can use Indmusic resources to work with music rights, monetization and fan development experts on reaching their optimal audiences on YouTube.
This means that artists on PledgeMusic can become part of the Indmusic network and get the tools necessary to grow their audience.
Brandon Martinez, CEO of Indmusic, said about the deal to NMR: “We want every artist to own their brand on YouTube through the branding tools available and music specific best practices and especially optimizing their content for highest discoverability and monetization.”
He added that his partnership with PledgeMusic will ensure that all users will use the most relevant search terms when it comes to music discovery: “We help the artists earn more money on their official music videos and art tracks, but also on third-party user generated content when others use their music without their permission.”
INDMUSIC may be best known as the channel that propelled Mad Decent musician Baauer to YouTube stardom. They worked to drive direct sales and claim rights on behalf of Baauer’s “Harlem Shake” as many people were uploading memes featuring the song on YouTube. The “Harlem Shake” eventually took the number one spot on the Billboard chart.
While INDMUSIC helps foster talent like Baauer, PledgeMusic is a direct-to-fan platform where fans not only help musicians fund their latest album or tour, but also watch their favorite musicians behind the scenes as they create their projects and release new music. Musicians on PledgeMusic can inform their fans through updates, exclusive recordings and giveaways to their patrons.
