Tumblr Launches Major Update For Android Apps With Redesigned Interface

Tumblr launched a major update to its Android app Monday featuring a revamped interface and sharing features.

The company made a short announcement in its blog about the upgrade: “We’ve completely redesigned the interface, added fancy post animations, made images pop, and a whole lot more.”

The new Tumblr app features an updated front page where users can post anything from videos, photos, links, quotes and text by tapping the specific button once. If you want to get the latest updates on your phone, you can pull down the page to refresh. In addition, Tumblr users can save drafts, customize their tweets and manage their future posts.

Even though the new Tumblr update is limited to Androids at the moment, it does follow a similar pattern with its smartphone updates. Around this time last year, the Android app got its last major facelift while the IOS facelift went live a couple of months later. It is likely that an IOS upgrade will follow in the coming months.

Android users can get the free update from the Google Play store.
