Felicia Day Launches Multi-Channel Network, Opens Submissions For Geek-Themed Vlogs

It’s YouTube network season here on the internet.

Early last week, the folks behind Smosh launched game-oriented multi-channel network, Smosh Games Alliance. Now, internet icon Felicia Day has decided to jump into the MCN game with the Geek & Sundry Vlogs channel.

Built around Day’s already successful YouTube channel Geek & Sundry, which features a variety of original programming, the new MCN is expected to support 20 individual bloggers all trained and recruited by Day and producer Jenni Powell.

“It’s incredibly exciting to expand Geek & Sundry as a network with our new vlog channel that looks to present new geek voices to a wider audience,” said Day in a press release. “My hope is to create a platform and home for up-and-coming vloggers who have a chance to participate, learn and develop with us, while continuing to grow Geek & Sundry by authentically connecting with and serving our community.”

The Geek & Sundry Vlogs channel will launch with eight pre-selected participating vloggers including actor and screenwriter Jeff Lewis (you may know his as “Vork” from “The Guild”). The remaining open slots at Geek & Sundry Vlogs will be selected by the Geek & Sundry community through a submission and voting process.

Applicants are encouraged to embed their geek-centric videos at the Geek & Sundry Vlog site where they will receive community feedback and be officially reviewed. The 10 crowdsourced vloggers will be announced this year at VidCon 2013.

The application process begins May 20, 2013. For more on the application process, creators can check out additional info here.
