When I first saw that Taryn Southern and Julia Price did a cover of Robin Thicke’s controversial “Blurred Lines,” music video, my first thought was, “Well, this is going to suck.” I imagined a white backdrop in which the girls would be surrounded by chumps in their underwear as Taryn and Julia objectified them — sort of a rote commentary on the original. And while, yes, they did exactly that, I always forget that Southern can actually sing, and sing well — and Julia Price is right there with her.
Add in former “American Idol” contestant Elliott Yamin and rapper King Bach and, well folks, we’ve got ourselves a fun little cover. Hell, there’s even an old man in a cowboy hat that made me laugh.
Also because I’m that sort of scummy, creepy guy that has to say something scummy and creepy, I guess I should say that the girls looked nice in their lingerie. Quite the niche I’ve carved out for myself in that regard, I guess. (Jeff bites down on fist) If they only knew that inside the soul of this sweaty pervert there beat the heart of an angel poet. If only …
