Comic book legend Grant Morrison has partnered with “character entertainment company” Graphic India on an upcoming animated web series “18 days.” The series focuses on the retelling of Sanskrit epic “Mahabharata.”
“18 days” will launch August 5 in conjunction with YouTube’s upcoming “Geek Week,” which will serve as the nerdier (well, maybe not) sibling of YouTube’s tepidly-received “Comedy Week.”
Graphic India functions as a creative agency that focuses on characters and stories aimed towards Indian youth. Morrison has spoke openly about his spiritual journey and the pursuit of human enlightenment through superhero comics, a pursuit shared by spiritual guru Deepak Chopra, friend of Morrison and father of Graphic India co-founder Gotham Chopra.
Morrison explained the series in a statement saying: “A genre mash of superhero action and mythology grounded in the all-too-human passions of its warriors, villains and monsters, 18 Days will rewrite the rules of epic fantasy.”
The series will air weekly through the rest of the year exclusively on Graphic India’s YouTube channel.
