Live Stream: Kings of Leon Perform In London YouTube Concert Aug. 9

Alternative rock band Kings of Leon will be the latest to perform a live YouTube concert as part of American Express’s“Unstaged” series on VEVO August 9 at 1 p.m. PT/4 p.m. ET.

The concert, which will be before the September 20 release of their sixth studio album “Mechanical Bull,” will take place at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire concert hall. Comedian Fred Armisen will direct the “Unstaged” episode which will let viewers experience the concert from different vantage points, including a view from the stage.

Armisen said in a statement: “I was really impressed with the creative opportunities that a program like ‘American Express Unstaged’ offered. I am excited to work with Kings of Leon to put together a really incredible show for fans worldwide.”

Twitter users are encouraged to use the hashtag #AmexUNSTAGED and if enough people tweet the hashtag, VEVO is promising to unlock special “Backstaged” content for their viewers.

The “American Express Unstaged” series on VEVO has paired high-profile bands with famous directors to bring the concert experience to the YouTube audience. Previous pairings include The Killers and Werner Herzog, Jack White and Gary Oldman and Vampire Weekend and Steve Buscemi.
