Toby Turner Of Tobuscus Joins Maker Studios: ‘It’s an honor to be surrounded by such a great team’

YouTube mega powerhouse Toby Turner has signed with multi-channel network Maker Studios. Turner (aka Tobuscus) is the creator of three separate multi-genre channels — Tobuscus, TobyTurner and gaming channel TobyGames. Across his three comedy-driven channels, Turner has received over 2 billion views from more than 10.5 million subscribers.

“It’s been my dream to join Maker ever since I gave up my first dream of becoming an astronaut dentist,” explained Turner. “Maker is at the cutting-edge of digital talent and it’s an honor to be surrounded by such a great team.”

Beyond YouTube, Turner has starred in two films, “New Low” and the 4Chan-despised horror flick “Smiley.” Joining the network, Turner is slated to star in several Maker original series scheduled to premiere later this year.

Turner also recently raised over $600,000 through crowd-sourcing site Indiegogo for an upcoming video game title based around his animated series “Tobuscus Adventures.”

Speaking on the partnership with Turner, Chris M. Williams, chief development officer of Maker Studios said: “The growth of gaming and comedy video online has been staggering in the past year, and we look forward to working with Toby to help grow and commercialize his audience and to collaborate on new programming that will continue to break barriers in geek culture entertainment.”
