Celebrity tie-ins are becoming the standard in YouTube ads, and Usher’s ad for Samsung Televisions featuring a fight against his clone has taken the top spot for June’s YouTube Ads Leaderboard. The two-minute ad has so far racked more than 41 million views.
Other celebrity tie-ins that dominated the list include Jay-Z’s promotion of his latest album “Magna Carta Holy Grail” through Samsung phones, LeBron James’ ad for Nike Basketball and an ad for Cheetos featuring the characters from “Despicable Me 2.” Outside of the celebrity tie-ins, the Dollar Shave Club’s hilarious follow-up ad “Let’s Talk About #2” made it to number 10.
