All Def Digital, the urban-oriented YouTube channel started by Def Jam founder Russell Simmons and AwesomenessTV founder Brian Robbins, is launching this week with a variety of spoken word videos, music videos and comedy sketches.
Kicking off All Def Digital is the historical comedy “Harriet Tubman Sex Tape” starring Shanna Malcolm as Harriet Tubman, DeStorm Power as Harriet’s friend and Jason Horton as Harriet’s master. New series that will follow in the coming days include the music documentary series “Odd World: Mellow High,” the web series “Dr. Reasons” featuring YouTube comedian Spoken Reasons and the animated series “B-Rock,” which follows the exploits of President Obama.
Other programming coming soon to All Def Digital includes “Blackie Sack,” a comedy that follows the first African American hacky sacker and the animated series “Counterfit.” Besides the web series, All Def Digital will have music videos and spoken word poetry.
Simmons announced All Def Digital back in January during the Consumer Electric Show as a collaboration with Robbins. Robbins also heads AwesomenessTV, which is focused towards a teen audience.
The Def Jam Records founder is also planning to launch a record label called All Def Music, which would focus on signing YouTube talents, later this year.
