YouTube videos will be prominently featured at the first annual Next Weekend summer film festival in Los Angeles curated by the Sundance Institute tonight at 5 p.m.
According to YouTube’s latest blog post, this is “the first time a major film festival has curated and screened a short film program exclusively featuring your videos on YouTube.” The 73-minute program, called YouTube Shorts @ Next Weekend, features content from prominent channels like Vice, JASH, College Humor, Above Average and much more.
The YouTube screening at the Next Weekend film festival is the latest collaboration between the video streaming site and the Sundance Institute. The Sundance Institute previously screened 12 shorts on their YouTube channel during the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.
