Transgender Star of Short-Lived YouTube Series Found Murdered In Her Home

Police in Fontana, California are investigating the homicide of a former transgender YouTube star, who was found brutally beaten to death in her home.

According to the Daily Mail, Domonique Newburn, 31, was found dead Tuesday afternoon after police responded to a domestic disturbance call placed from her home. Witnesses saw a shirtless African American male fleeing the scene in the victim’s 2004 Mercedes-Benz C240, which was found in nearby San Bernardino a day later. Police are still searching for the suspect.

Local television station ABC 7 reported that Newburn once starred in a reality YouTube series “Hollywood Houseboys” in 2010 that followed LGBT African-American men as they tried to find fame in Hollywood.

Newburn said in the first episode about being a transgender woman: “I was formally a boy, now I’m a transgender. My family does not know about this. I never really was attracted to gay boys, or feminine, or undercover… I was always attracted to straight boys.”

“Hollywood Houseboys” star and creator Ryan Hope said in a statement: “Domonique was an amazing person whose spirit transcended gender. When we set out to document or lives for reality television, we never once wished to make headlines like this. Our thoughts, prayers, and condolences are with her family.”
