After years of working in the world of nonprofits, Leah Neaderthal and Leanne Pittsford decided to poke a little fun at the overworked, underpaid work environment by creating the Tumblr “When You Work At A Nonprofit.”
The Tumblr has received hundreds of submissions that illustrate the nonprofit workplace, with many of them featuring animated GIFS taken from popular shows such as “Parks and Recreation,” “The Office” and “Arrested Development.” And while we might not all work at a nonprofit, the Tumblr’s common themes of low salaries, overbearing bosses and the annoyances of red tape are all themes we can perfectly relate to.
Check out some of NMR’s favorites below:
When a significant amount of grant money has not been spent by the deadline.
When your nonprofit emails all employees suggesting they donate money to the organization.
When my intern mentions she has good baking skills.
When there is leftover alcohol at a fundraising event.
When you are asked for suggestions for the upcoming team building exercise.
