YouTuber With Muscular Dystrophy Starts Indiegogo, Asks Fans To Help Save His Life [VIDEO]

When Mike Oliveri was born he was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy, a disease that weakens the musculoskeletal system and hinders Mike’s ability to move. Over the past five years, Mike has documented his everyday life on YouTube under the name Mikey Wheels.

Throughout the course of his life, Mike has suffered from a number of painful stomach issues, but in recent months the pain has become so severe that Mike has been unable to eat. Standing at 6’1, he currently weighs 75 pounds and without the proper treatment, Mike will die from his condition.“I went around from doctor to doctor to doctor, and they pretty much all told me the same thing: We can’t help you,” Mike told The Daily Dot.

But there is one hope left: the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota. The Mayo Clinic has over 100 gastrointestinal doctors on staff, and with their combined efforts, Mike hopes the doctors will be able to treat his stomach conditions. In order to afford his trip across the country, Mike is asking fans to save his life and donate to his Indiegogo and GoFundMe campaigns.

Mike commented on the campaigns, saying, “I hope that I can receive some help for the help that I need to get better and get healthier so I can live. I want to stay alive. It’s a nice feeling.”
