Maker Studios and Ben Stiller’s Red Hour Digital entertainment production company to are partnering up to produce the sophomore season of “Next Time on Lonny,” a web series that spoofs reality television.
The new episodes will be distributed sometime early next year by Maker, which will also be promoting the show’s first season in January as part of the agreement. “Next Time on Lonny’s” first six episodes, along with related bonus material videos, was released on its official NextTimeonLonny YouTube channel back in 2011, which has collected almost 600,000 total views to date.
The show was created and produced independently by Alex Anfanger and Dan Schimpf, who Stiller praised in a statement announcing the news.
Said Stiller: “Dan and Alex are the life blood of a new generation of comedy. Red Hour’s policy is to feed off of that blood in the time-honored vampiric tradition of show business.”
Red Hour Digital is the online entertainment content subsidiary of the Stiller and Stuart Cornfeld-founded Red Hour Films, which was responsible for Stiller movie vehicles like “Zoolander,” “Tropic Thunder” and the upcoming “Secret Life of Walter Smitty.”
